Interdepartmental Programs

I earned a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at Iowa State University in 2022. My research interests include : Inference of metabolic network with statistical methods and Biochemical Network Integrated Computational Explorer (BNICE, developed by Dr. Linda Broadbelt in Northwestern University).

My current contribution to Maize Surface Lipids website is constructing the metabolic pathways involving silk surface lipids (especially hydrocarbons) and explore the genotypic preference for different pathways.

Apart from my curriculum I am also interested in classical music, Chinese history and literature, detective stories (my favorite authors are Agatha Christie and Ellery Queen), hiking (but not camping), and jogging. I have done simultaneous translation from Chinese into English on several occasions, both private and public; it is one of my hobbies.

Area of Expertise: Metabolic Pathways construction

Major: Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB)

Advisor: Marna Yandeau-Nelson
